Meet Tamara
Legal Practice Director | Family Law, Domestic and Family Violence, Child Protection, Wills and Estates
Practical advice. A steady hand. Someone firmly in your corner.
Tamara understands that when people seek legal advice, they are often dealing with some of the most significant and challenging moments of their lives. Whether it’s the breakdown of a relationship, a difficult parenting situation, a child protection matter or planning for the future, she believes that having the right support can make all the difference.
Her approach is refreshingly straightforward: understand what matters to you, explain your options in plain English, and work out a practical way forward together.
A practical approach to the law
Tamara has a particular passion for family law and helping people navigate the changes that come with relationships, separation and family life. She knows that legal matters can be emotionally charged, and that the last thing most people need is more conflict or unnecessary legal expense.
Where possible, Tamara looks for opportunities to resolve matters amicably and constructively. She believes that finding common ground, where it exists, can help people move forward with greater certainty and less stress.
That doesn’t mean taking a back seat when things get difficult. Tamara is a strong advocate for her clients and understands that some situations call for a firmer approach. Where negotiation isn’t appropriate or simply isn’t getting the job done, she is prepared to stand up for her clients and pursue the steps needed to protect their interests.
In short, she prefers to find a solution rather than fuel a dispute – but she knows when it’s time to stand firm.
More than just the legal paperwork
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Psychological Science, along with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Her psychology background informs her understanding of the people and relationships behind the legal issues, helping her take a thoughtful and considered approach to resolving disputes.
Over the years, Tamara has developed experience across family law, domestic and family violence, and child protection. She has also worked with Bravehearts and understands that family circumstances are rarely straightforward. Modern family matters can involve complex financial arrangements, businesses, trusts, superannuation and a range of personal circumstances that need to be considered together.
Tamara also assists clients with Wills and Estates, particularly where these matters intersect with family relationships and property arrangements.
Her aim is to give clients clear, realistic advice that takes the bigger picture into account – not simply to deal with the immediate legal issue in isolation.
A local lawyer with a down-to-earth approach
Through Samford Family Law, Tamara provides a personal and approachable legal service to people in Samford and the surrounding communities. She values building relationships with clients, taking the time to understand their circumstances and making sure they feel informed and supported throughout the process.
Tamara knows that legal advice is most useful when people understand what it means for them in practical terms. She takes the time to explain the options, discuss the likely costs and benefits, and help clients make decisions that suit their circumstances and priorities.
Because, at the end of the day, your money is better spent on your future and your family than on unnecessary legal conflict.
A little about Tamara outside the office
When she’s not working with clients, Tamara can often be found on a gymnastics floor. She enjoys coaching and judging acrobatic gymnastics and, every now and then, having a go at a ninja warrior-style challenge.
It’s a slightly different kind of balancing act – but one she thoroughly enjoys.
